The SIM SMS rules established now are:

  • Shutting off SMS services.
  • Telecom companies will be required to suspend SMS services (for sending as well as receiving) while the SIM is being checked.
  • Updates or trading in your old mobile phone.

24-hour suspension:

You will not be able to use SMS for 24 after activating a new SIM card.

Being alert and checking the last step:

After getting a request to change their SIM card, the telecom companies will need to alert the customers. They will then be required to confirm their choice by calling an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS).

KYC process:

A new SIM must be verified with KYC within the following 24 hours after both incoming and outgoing SMS services start.

What should we do to solve this problem ?
A lot of users often have to report problems to their service provider after changing their SIM card because they do not receive or send SMS.

But this is not because of Airtel or V (Vodafone Idea). Acting on TRAI’s order, copies will not receive any SMS for 24 hours after being activated. Sometimes there is an issue for BSNL users who change their 3G or 4G cards to a 5G SIM.







When the SIM card changes, sending and receiving SMS messages get blocked:

So long as a duplicate is being sent, the system will not generate any SMS text message to that number for 24 hours after the number is activated. Sending SMS messages is still possible through the phone. You are able to accept calls as well as make them, but receiving SMS is an issue. All SMS types such as personal, OTPs and promotional, are included.

Ways to resolve the issue where your number is not receiving SMS

This is thought of as a safety feature rather than an issue. As a consequence, the scanner will correct the problem for you. The problem will be solved automatically after 24 hours and you will receive a text message. For this, it is not necessary to get in touch with customer service or place a complaint. Give yourself a day and the problems may dissolve.
