Whether you are a first-time voter or someone who recently turned 18, you can complete the entire application process using just your smartphone. The mobile-based system is simple, quick, and avoids the need to visit any government office. Here is a complete step-by-step guide to help you apply for a new Voter ID on your mobile.
1. Download the Voter Helpline Mobile App
The Election Commission has an official app called Voter Helpline App, available in both Android and iOS app stores.
- Open Google Play Store or Apple App Store
- Search for “Voter Helpline”
- Download and install the app
This app allows you to register as a new voter, update your existing details, check status, find your BLO, and download your digital EPIC later.
2. Create or Log in to Your Account
- After opening the app:
- Tap on Login/Register
- Enter your mobile number
- Verify it using the OTP sent to your phone
Once verified, you will be directed to the main dashboard of the app.
3. Start New Voter Registration (Form 6)
- To apply for a new Voter ID:
- Select Voter Registration
- Tap on New Voter Registration (Form 6)
Form 6 is specifically for first-time voters or those who wish to register in a new constituency.
4. Fill in Personal Details
You will be required to enter:

8. Track Your Application Status

- Enter your reference number

9. Field Verification by BLO

Once your application is approved, your name will be added to the voter list. You can then download your Digital Voter ID (e-EPIC) from the app:

- Select Download e-EPIC
- Enter your EPIC number and download the digital card
- A physical Voter ID card will also be delivered to your registered address.
